The community forest has good potential for harnessing power from the wind and rain that graces our community, with several burns being open to the development of mini-hydro schemes. The 35 turbine (30 MW) Cruach Mhor Windfarm is situated just a couple of miles north of the community forest, and provides welcome funding for forest activities.
