We were up inspecting the new footpath this morning that links the chambered cairn to the existing forest track network on the eastern side of the community forest. Whilst reasonable under foot on such a frosty day, it still needs a few more months to bed down properly, hence why the route is still taped off. Come the Spring, however, we’ll have another look to see which parts of the trail, if any, need reinforcing. All being well, signposts can then be installed and it will be good to go well before the summer holidays.
Huge thanks to our leaseholders, Stakis Forestry, for making the new trail a reality.
